By investing in the Canaan Chamber of Commerce, you are making an investment in your business and in your community. The Canaan Railroad Days Celebrations for 2008 brought thousands of people into Canaan benefiting the area businesses as well as our non profit organizations keeping the money in our community. The 2009 Railroad Days will run from July 10 – July 19th with a fireman’s parade and fireworks following on Saturday, July 18th. We anticipate this will be the best Railroad Days ever! We also would like to have a Spring Fling Affair, Fall Festival, outdoor concerts and more events added in the summer months, but in order to be successful we are looking for volunteers or sponsors of events to help make this a great success. Nothing happens unless people get involved and make things happen! We need your fresh new ideas. If you are interested please let us know!
The Pat Pallone/Canaan Chamber of Commerce Scholarship fund was able to give out over $7,000 in scholarships to over 30 students from Canaan and Falls Village to help further their education.
We encourage you to join the Canaan Chamber of Commerce. The monthly general membership meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. (place to be announced) at 6:00 p.m. By joining you will have a free listing on our website (www.canaanchamber.com) as well as having the ability to have your website linked to our website. If you don’t have a website, an affordable web page can be designed for your business by our webmaster. Your business will also be listed on the back of Canaan Railroad Days Schedule. I have enclosed a membership application form. Your membership dues cover from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009. Our annual meeting will be held on January 13, 2009 at Geer Village at 6:00 p.m., so mark your calendars! This is a great opportunity to network.
