I am fortunate enough to have worked for the last twenty-one years for a Guilford organization that truly believes in corporate social responsibility. As employees, we are encouraged to volunteer our time and services to our community. Guilford Savings Bank recognizes that volunteerism, which represents "social capital", is critical to our local economy. It is because of this support of good citizenship, and my personal belief in service to others, that I have been able participate in the Guilford Chamber in a number of capacities since early 2003, joining as a Board member in 2004.
Chamber businesses encompass a number of industries such as manufacturing, retail, professional and medical services, non-profits and other service providers. As a business person, I am respectful of the challenges faced every day in managing a profitable and sustainable business, particularly in the turbulence of recent economic times. If there was ever a time to become involved in an organization whose mission is, "...dedicated to increasing the growth, vitality and well being of its members..." this is it. I believe that active participation in the Chamber is key to ensuring the continued prosperity of the Guilford business community.

We, the Chamber Board and staff members, are committed to making this another banner year for the Chamber and most importantly, for all of us, its members.
