Indeed, Inc. was founded in 2004 with the aim of radically improving online job search. The company pioneered the application of a true search engine methodology to jobs and, with the beta-launch of Indeed.com in November 2004, immediately became the most comprehensive job search service on the Web.
The company was quickly recognized as an industry leader both in trade and business media. Indeed.com was selected by Time magazine as one of the "Top 10 Websites" for 2007. The company and its impact on online job search have also been profiled in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, The Washington Post, The Financial Times, The Boston Globe, and Money Magazine.
Indeed is privately held, with institutional investors including The New York Times Company, Allen & Company and Union Square Ventures.
