Stratford Connecticut Chamber of Commerce

Welcome to the Stratford Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. Whether your firm has been a member of the Chamber for many years, or you are a new member, or you are a prospective member—it is it is our hope that you’ll find something of interest in our organization and that we’ll meet your needs and expectations.

The effort to organize the current Stratford Chamber began in 1981. Over the following months, discussions took place with Town leadership, by-laws and programming committees were formed, and the business community was surveyed for their ideas and involvement. Chamber leadership was elected, by-laws were accepted, and programs for the first year were developed. 1982 arrived—and the Stratford Chamber of Commerce was born.

The Stratford Chamber is an affiliate of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council who provides the professional staff to administer operation of the Chamber. Other Business Council affiliates include the Bridgeport Chamber, the Trumbull Chamber, Leadership Greater Bridgeport, Women’s Leadership Council and BEDCO (Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation). Each affiliate has a program of work specific to its mission and works through the Business Council on major economic development issues. Your joint membership in the BRBC and all of its affiliates affords you the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and networking opportunities.

The mission of the Stratford Chamber is to blend the prosperity for Stratford through economic development and enhanced quality of life. The highest three priorities of the Chamber are: economic development through retention, expansion, and recruitment of business; community and quality of life development by addressing issues pertaining to education, cultural affairs, public safety, training, human relations, and transportation; and organization improvement activities, for membership building and retention, membership communication, and professional staff.

Our 2005 program of work has been developed to improve the image of our Town, to attract new customers to existing businesses and attract new businesses to come to Stratford—A Town For All Seasons. We urge you to become a member, or if you are already a member,--become a more active member—the more that you participate the more you will reap the benefits of our organization.

We have a vision for our Town—help us make that vision a reality. There is strength in numbers.
